Magrabi Hospitals and Centers in Dubai organized the ICO exam in October 2021. Many ophthalmologists from different countries attended the exam.
This exam aims to help ophthalmologists worldwide understand and assess their knowledge of everything related to the field of ophthalmology in terms of basic sciences and clinical sciences.
ICO exams are considered one of the most important and only specialized medical qualification exams in the world in ophthalmology, which works to provide all means of support and assistance to ophthalmologists around the world.
What is the ICO exam?
“ICO” is an acronym for the “International Council of Ophthalmology” or what is known as the International Council of Ophthalmology, which was established in 1927 in the Netherlands to serve professional associations of ophthalmologists all over the world.
The idea of establishing the International Council of Ophthalmology dates back to 1857 AD, which witnessed the meeting of about 150 ophthalmologists representing 24 countries to participate in the first international conference of ophthalmology in Brussels, which resulted in the participants settling on the establishment of the International Council of Ophthalmology in 1927 in the Netherlands.
The International Conference on Ophthalmology (ICO) is held every two years. The medical conference is the longest-running international medical meeting, with members of the International Council of Ophthalmology to support eye care and leadership, community development, and education.
What is the purpose of the “ICO”?
In cooperation with ophthalmological societies and others, the International Council of Ophthalmology the ICO examaims to promote ophthalmology education and improve access to high-quality eye care to protect the vision of all peoples of the world.
The International Council of Ophthalmology believes in the importance of its role and objectives in promoting ophthalmology education to build what is known as the “Global Vision Alliance” by stimulating support for the efforts of ophthalmological organizations, associations, and departments around the world to promote ophthalmology education and eye care.
